£24m Arsenal man about to double his wages after signing new deal, he’ll be earning more than Odegaard

According to a report by The Athletic, it seems likely that Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale will receive a significant increase in his wages when he finalizes a new contract. 

Arsenal’s management, Edu and Mikel Arteta, are determined to secure the futures of their key players before the summer transfer window. Both Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Martinelli have already agreed to new contracts earlier this season. 

Additionally, Bukayo Saka is nearing the completion of a new deal that includes a substantial salary boost. The most recent positive development seems to be the forthcoming contract extension for Aaron Ramsdale.

Despite a few uncertain moments during the current season, Aaron Ramsdale, who represents the English national team, has performed exceptionally well.

 In April, he received the save of the month award for his outstanding stop against Mohamed Salah, which secured a valuable point for Arsenal. Given his efforts, a new contract at Arsenal is the least Ramsdale should receive as recognition for his contributions.

 In terms of salary, he is poised to surpass the club captain, although this may not be the case indefinitely.

Ramsdale set to sign new bumper Arsenal contract

According to The Athletic’s report, Aaron Ramsdale is anticipated to double his current wage of £60,000 per week with a new contract. 

This means he would earn £120,000 per week, surpassing Martin Odegaard in terms of salary. At just 25 years old, Ramsdale is relatively young for a top-level goalkeeper. 

This is significant considering that many clubs, including some of Arsenal’s rivals, are actively seeking new goalkeepers in the upcoming summer transfer window.

 Therefore, Ramsdale’s decision to remain at Arsenal is indeed positive news. Additionally, the role of goalkeepers has evolved, and they are now expected to contribute to starting attacks, making their involvement in the team increasingly important.

While Aaron Ramsdale is not yet an expert in starting attacks, he has been occasionally caught out in this aspect of his game. Nevertheless, it is an area that he is actively working on and improving. 

Mikel Arteta, the Arsenal manager, evidently has faith in Ramsdale’s ability to handle the ball. As Ramsdale spends more time in the team, his understanding with players like Gabriel and William Saliba will likely improve.

 Arsenal’s management is aware of the need for new signings in various positions during the summer transfer window. However, the significance of having a settled and cohesive defense should not be underestimated, as it can greatly benefit a top-tier team.
