Arsenal’s potential January pursuit of Wolves winger Pedro Neto might face a setback, as he has expressed contentment with his current situation at Molineux.

Despite being 23 years old, he remains a prime candidate for the Gunners to enhance their wing choices for added speed, possibly offering valuable rotation alongside Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.

Neto has had a remarkable start to the season, contributing with one goal and providing six assists in nine matches. It’s worth noting that Arsenal’s interest in him dates back to a year ago, indicating their continued desire to acquire his services.

Speaking to The Telegraph, despite the speculations linking him with a move to Arsenal, Neto has affirmed his satisfaction with staying at Wolves even beyond the upcoming January transfer window.

“I want to say that I am here and I will help everyone,” he stated.

“I love the club and everybody here, I have always felt that it has given a lot to me.

“I’m enjoying the moment here so I will continue to do that. The future and long-term ambitions don’t matter. We will never go down in any situation, we are here to win and fight. I feel really good at the moment and hope to continue.”

According to The Telegraph, Wolves have no intentions of selling Neto during the upcoming January transfer window. This decision comes in the wake of a summer in which the club saw several key players, including their captain Ruben Neves, depart.

Despite Arsenal’s strong interest, a January move for the player earning £50,000 per week now appears highly unlikely. While nothing can be ruled out entirely, it would require a significant change of circumstances for Wolves to consider selling him, and Neto doesn’t seem inclined to force a transfer.

Mikel Arteta may need to explore internal options, with Reiss Nelson seeking more playing time and Amario Cozier-Duberry waiting in the academy, or he could look for an alternative in the January transfer market if he is keen on an immediate reinforcement.

In this regard, Arsenal has been linked with Galatasaray winger Kerem Akturkoglu, a 24-year-old who might present a more cost-effective and practical alternative in the winter transfer window.
