Alexis Sanchez to Arsenal transfer latest as shock Gunners return recommended
There have been surprising reports suggesting that Alexis Sanchez may make a sensational comeback to Arsenal in the upcoming summer transfer window. Sanchez departed from the Emirates Stadium in January 2018 to join Manchester United.
However, he faced difficulties in finding his form, managing to score only five goals in 45 appearances for the Red Devils.
Following that, the skilled forward revived his career by performing well during his time with Inter Milan in Serie A. He later moved to Marseille in Ligue 1 last summer.
At 34 years old, Alexis Sanchez has impressively scored 17 goals for Marseille this season. Surprising reports have now surfaced, suggesting that he could make a comeback to Arsenal in the upcoming summer transfer window.
ArsenalBrief.football has compiled all the speculation surrounding Alexis Sanchez’s future at Marseille’s Stade Vélodrome.
Arsenal recommendation
According to Chilean journalist Jose Tomas Fernandez Pumarino, Marseille has reportedly offered Alexis Sanchez a new contract as his current deal is set to end after the current season. However, the report also suggests that Arsenal might consider bringing him back to North London if he decides not to extend his contract with the Ligue 1 club.
Instagram post
In January, Alexis Sanchez reacted to a post by Arsenal’s social media team, which featured one of his goals from the memorable 3-0 victory over Manchester United in the 2015/16 season.
Writing on Instagram, he said: “You remembered me, I will never forget you too.
“You will always be in my heart. You were my first family in England, and everybody took good care of me especially the fans. All the best Gunners.”
City admission
Alexis Sanchez has openly expressed his belief that had he chosen to join Manchester City instead of Manchester United, he would have had a better chance of winning the UEFA Champions League with the former.
“I was about to go to City,” said Sanchez, as quoted by La Tercera, via the Mirror. “I spoke to Guardiola every day, he told me happy birthday. He was like my dad, He was my dad at Barcelona and he was like my dad at City. We talked, we talked every day, he sent me messages.
“And everything was ready, there was a player who was going to go to Arsenal. Then [Arsenal manager Arsene] Wenger tells me you are not leaving because the other player did not want to come and they do not have another.”
