Arsenal confirm January transfer window departure with loan move agreement
Ovie Ejeheri, an Arsenal player, has signed a loan deal with SJK Seinajoki of Finland.
The league leaders have been very active during the transfer window in an attempt to add players with the requisite pedigree to help them maintain their eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League.
Mykhailo Mudryk, a wide receiver for Mikel Arteta’s team, was the subject of three rejected bids before he finally signed for Chelsea in a jaw-dropping £89 million deal last weekend.
According to reports, Arsenal are in negotiations with Brighton to sign striker Leandro Trossard, who reportedly wants to leave the Seagulls.
The league leaders are rumored to be planning a bid for the Belgian international despite not having yet made an offer.
However, the Gunners are also likely to lose some young and fringe players before the January 31 transfer deadline.
For the rest of the season, Ejeheri will be playing for SJK on loan from Arsenal.
After a successful loan stint with National League South club Chelmsford City, the 19-year-old had returned to Hale End. He had played 23 times for the club across all competitions during his time there.
In fact, Ejeheri was able to keep 11 clean sheets while playing for Chelmsford and only let in 17 goals.
According to The Athletic, Arsenal wants their younger goalkeepers to play in Europe to increase their marketability.
During the same week that Ejeheri left, 21-year-old goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo was loaned to Austrian club Sturm Graz after having his time at Crewe cut short.
Both moves have been viewed as exciting challenges for the players involved.
At SJK, where Ejeheri will soon begin working, the club is among the elite in Europe and is vying for a spot in the Champions League, Europa League, or Conference League.
