Arsenal handed Gabriel Jesus injury update ahead of Sheffield United clash
According to The Daily Mail, Gabriel Jesus, the Arsenal striker, was absent from Thursday’s training session. This absence is due to a hamstring injury he suffered during Tuesday’s 2-1 win against Sevilla in the UEFA Champions League.
In that game, Jesus played a key role by assisting Gabriel Martinelli and scoring the second goal, helping his team secure the top spot in their group. However, towards the end of the match, the former Manchester City forward had to leave the field due to a hamstring issue. The results of his hamstring scan are expected to be available on Friday.
There is some uncertainty regarding his availability for Arsenal’s upcoming Premier League match against Sheffield United on Saturday, although the injury is not believed to be severe. Jesus expressed optimism about his recovery when discussing his injury after the game in Spain.
Speaking about it after the full-time whistle, Jesus told TNT Sports: “I felt something. Let’s see.
“I did some tests with the physio, it looks not that big, but let’s see. I have a scan, maybe tomorrow. I’m pretty sure it will be nothing.”
Sheffield United, on the other hand, are dealing with a significant number of injuries, possibly affecting up to ten of their players for their visit to the Emirates Stadium.
The list of injured players includes Chris Basham, Anel Ahmedhodžić, George Baldock, Will Osula, Oli McBurnie, Rhys Norrington-Davies, John Egan, Tom Davies, Max Lowe, and Daniel Jebbison, each facing their own fitness issues at the moment.
