Arsenal make move to sign second Brighton star, he’s ‘ready to go’
According to sources from Football Insider, Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister has caught the attention of several top Premier League teams, including Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Liverpool.
Liverpool reportedly started the bidding war with Brighton, who are open to selling the player if their £70 million asking price is met.
Those familiar with the 24-year-old have indicated that he is eager to move to a larger club this summer, having been with Brighton for over four years.
Not only Alexis Mac Allister but also other Brighton player Moises Caicedo has caught the attention of the ‘big-six’ clubs, such as Chelsea and Arsenal. Caicedo even requested to leave the club on social media in January.
However, he has recently signed a new contract with Brighton, leaving Arsenal with another Seagulls player on their radar.
Mac Allister, who won the World Cup with Argentina in Qatar six months ago, might leave Brighton when the transfer window opens in the summer.
Alexis Mac Allister’s contract with Brighton is set to expire in June 2025, with an option for the club to extend it for an additional year. The midfielder has been a regular starter for Roberto De Zerbi’s team this season, scoring seven goals in 22 appearances across all competitions.
Brighton acquired Mac Allister for a reported fee of £7 million in 2019, and he has since become a crucial part of their team following two loan spells with Argentinos Juniors and Boca Juniors.
Meanwhile, Arsenal currently lead the Premier League, with Manchester City trailing behind, and are on course to qualify for the Champions League for the first time since the 2016-17 season.
Under the leadership of Erik ten Hag, Manchester United has seen a remarkable transformation, culminating in the club winning its first trophy in six years by defeating Newcastle in the League Cup final on Sunday, February 26th. Additionally, the Red Devils are currently in a strong position to qualify for the Champions League this season.
