Arsenal manager Arteta issues Eddie Nketiah update after he limped off last night
Last night, Arsenal secured a convincing 4-0 victory against Everton. However, after the game, Eddie Nketiah appeared to be limping as he left the field.
During the first 40 minutes of the match, Everton proved to be a formidable opponent, and Arsenal had to put in a lot of effort. Nevertheless, two goals in just six minutes gave Arsenal the lead.
In the second half, Mikel Arteta’s team dominated the game, and Nketiah, who was brought on as a substitute, provided an assist.
After the World Cup, Eddie Nketiah had started in every Premier League match for Arsenal until their recent visit to Leicester City. In that game, Leandro Trossard was chosen instead, and it was later revealed by Arteta that Nketiah was nursing a minor injury. As a result, Nketiah was given a break and was kept on the bench for the match against Everton.
Nonetheless, Nketiah was brought in as a substitute for the last 18 minutes of the game, and he appeared to be full of energy. He demonstrated some excellent runs and movement, which ultimately led to an assist for Gabriel Martinelli.
Nketiah’s brief appearance during the match delighted Arsenal fans, but as he left the pitch after the game, he appeared to be limping and in pain.
When asked about Nketiah’s condition, Arteta downplayed the situation and revealed that the player had been managing a minor injury. However, the Arsenal boss expressed hope that Nketiah would recover soon.
He said, as per Arsenal.com: “Hopefully he is fine, he ended the game well but he has been carrying a little thing.”
Usually, Arsenal tends to lose players to injuries at this time of year, but the situation is different this season. The Gunners currently have no new injuries, and with the returns of Thomas Partey and Emile Smith Rowe from their respective issues, fans can expect to see Gabriel Jesus back on the pitch soon.
This development could give Arsenal a massive boost in the race for the Premier League title. Arteta’s team is already five points ahead of Manchester City at the top of the table, and with Jesus back in the squad, they could become an unstoppable force.
The positive update on Nketiah’s injury is great news for Arsenal. He will need to continue making positive contributions like the one he made last night if the Gunners hope to win the title.
