Arsenal ‘ready Rice move’ to defeat Chelsea for West Ham midfielder
Arsenal could make an offer for West Ham’s midfielder Declan Rice, according to the Mail. The 24-year-old has been linked to Chelsea, but Arsenal could make a summer move.
The report comes after Mikel Arteta recently witnessed 22-year-old Ukraine winger Mykhailo Mudryk choose Chelsea over them.
West Ham has reportedly made an offer for Aston Villa striker Danny Ings, as reported by the Daily Telegraph. The 30-year-old is currently his team’s leading scorer and is valued at approximately £15 million.
The same newspaper states that if the Hammers lose to Everton on Saturday, head coach David Moyes, 59, will be in jeopardy and the club will face relegation if they do not strengthen their attack. They have recorded only four Premier League victories, with the most recent coming on October 24 against Bournemouth at home.
The Sun adds that if Moyes is fired, Everton may be tempted to sign him as Frank Lampard’s (44-year-old) replacement. Both teams face the possibility of relegation.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Liverpool are reportedly all interested in Declan Rice of West Ham United.
The Gunners will try to get the England international in the summer, The Guardian said on Monday.
Kaveh Solhekol, the head of Sky Sports News, has said that Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils and Jurgen Klopp’s Reds are also chasing him, along with Arsenal and Chelsea.
The report in The Guardian said that Arsenal thinks they can sign Rice before teams like Chelsea.
The 24-year-old player is also said to be open to moving to the Emirates Stadium.
Rice is one of the best English midfielders, and rumors about him have been going around for a few years now.
But his contract situation seems to have made clubs aware, and they have started to circle him again.
As of this summer, Rice will have two years left on his contract.
His current contract lasts until 2024, but West Ham can add a year if they want to.
