Arsenal receives title blow after huge news coming out from Etihad in regard to April 26 Manchester City clash
Phil Foden will rig up his bicycle and return in time for the championship match against Arsenal.
After having his appendix removed less than a fortnight ago, the Manchester City midfielder was expected to be sidelined until at least the beginning of May.
But Foden, age 22, is already active.
This week, he will begin cycling and strength training, with the hope of easing him back into action before the Gunners’ April 26 visit to Etihad Stadium.
Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final against Sheffield United has been mentioned, but his sights are firmly set on Arsenal.
Foden missed England’s victory over Ukraine last month due to appendix problems that flared up just before the match.
During the Wembley victory, however, the star informed fans from his hospital bed that he was “feeling much better.”
He is now expected to miss both legs of Manchester City’s crucial Champions League quarterfinal against Bayern Munich and Thomas Tuchel.
Pep Guardiola’s squad is still attempting to win the treble on three fronts.
Given the Gunners’ five-point lead at the top of the table, the match against Arsenal in late April could be decisive in determining the champion.
