‘Arsenal’s main worry…’ – Chris Sutton predicts the result of Gunners v Sheffield United

Arsenal is set to make a Premier League comeback this Saturday at the Emirates Stadium, as they face Sheffield United. The Gunners are eager to bounce back to winning form following their 2-2 draw with Chelsea last weekend.

Sheffield United has yet to secure a victory in the 2023-24 league season, having only managed one draw in nine games.

Paul Heckingbottom, the manager of the Blades, is under pressure to secure their first league win, but it won’t be an easy task as they go up against Arsenal, who have remained unbeaten in the Premier League this season.

Chris Sutton, in his BBC column, anticipates a comfortable 3-0 victory for Arsenal, suggesting that they will easily outperform Sheffield United.

“Sheffield United have one point from their first nine games, and with a quarter of the season gone, they are basically relegated,” the pundit said.

“Aren’t they? Things look desperate for the Blades already and you do wonder how they can shape up to try to stop Arsenal.

“We already know that is what they will do – just hang in there and be resilient, and hopefully nick something, but I don’t see it working out for them at the Emirates.

“Arsenal’s main worry ahead of this game is their schedule and their squad, because the games are coming thick and fast for them at the moment, but I think they will be pretty comfortable here.

“I am still not sure about Gunners boss Mikel Arteta sticking with David Raya over Aaron Ramsdale in goal, but that situation is unlikely to affect how this game goes.”

Arsenal may have to do without Brazilian international striker Gabriel Jesus, who was forced to leave the field with a suspected hamstring issue during their Champions League group match against Sevilla on Tuesday.

Gabriel Jesus, the former Manchester City player, played a pivotal role in their 2-1 victory in Seville, contributing both as an assist-maker and a goal-scorer. Although Arsenal is still likely to secure a victory without him, manager Mikel Arteta is concerned about his absence for upcoming matches.

In the absence of Jesus, Arsenal has options like Eddie Nketiah to take the lead in the attacking role, and they can also utilize Leandro Trossard and Kai Havertz as potential number 9s.

Arsenal is the clear favorite on paper for tomorrow’s match, making victory almost certain. However, Sheffield United is eager to create an upset, so the hosts must be at their best to avoid a surprise outcome.
