Arsenal could potentially face the absence of forward Gabriel Martinelli following his early substitution in the game against Everton over the weekend.

Martinelli, who has been a crucial player for the Gunners, may not be available for a significant period, which could be a major setback for the team.

In the previous season, Martinelli established himself as the primary left-winger, especially with Emile Smith Rowe struggling with injuries and the arrival of Leandro Trossard in January.

While Trossard added some competition, Martinelli remained the preferred choice in that position.

During the last season, in 36 Premier League appearances, the winger contributed significantly with 15 goals and five assists, playing a pivotal role in Arsenal’s push towards the top of the league table.

Although they narrowly missed out on winning the title, there was optimism with their young squad that they could achieve success in the future.

Despite not displaying the same level of fluidity in their offensive play, the team has managed to secure four wins and a draw in their first five games of the season, placing them in early contention for the title.

However, their upcoming challenges promise to be more demanding, including a return to the Champions League and a highly anticipated north London derby against Tottenham.

Nonetheless, there is a significant concern regarding Martinelli’s availability for both of these crucial matches.

He sustained an injury during the Everton game, with suggestions that it might be related to his hamstring.

If it turns out to be a grade one hamstring injury, his absence could extend to approximately two weeks, but if the injury is more severe, it could potentially keep him out of action for several months.

This implies that unless the injury turns out to be unrelated to what’s currently suspected, Gabriel Martinelli could very likely be absent for a significant week of important matches, and potentially even more beyond that.
