Arteta reveals heartbreaking news on possible return of Thomas Partey

Arsenal’s manager Mikel Arteta shared disheartening updates with Arsenal supporters concerning midfielder Thomas Partey‘s injury.

Partey, absent from their last match against Sheffield United, is anticipated to remain sidelined for a number of weeks.

Arteta, addressing the media about Partey’s injury, conveyed uncertainty about the specific timeframe for his return.

“I think he will be out for weeks – I don’t know how long but he’s got another appointment today and we will see more after that,” Arteta stated telling reporters

The manager also acknowledged Partey’s disappointment, saying, “He was gutted [about his injury] and we are for him, but he needs to lift himself up again with our support and go again because he’s a player that is critical for us.”

Partey’s absence will undeniably create a void for Arsenal, given the significant role the Ghanaian midfielder has played in their midfield this season. Nevertheless, Arsenal currently enjoys a promising standing on the Premier League table, occupying second place in the 2023/24 campaign with 24 points.

In their recent Premier League match against Sheffield United at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal exhibited their attacking strength by securing an impressive 5-0 win. This outcome further reinforced their position near the summit of the table.

Looking forward, Arsenal’s upcoming challenge will be a Carabao Cup round of 16 clash against West Ham United at The London Stadium on Wednesday. With Partey sidelined, Arteta will have to depend on other players to step in and compensate for his absence.

Despite this setback, Arsenal supporters can find comfort in the team’s demonstrated resilience and depth throughout the season so far.

Navigating a demanding schedule, Arteta and his squad must unite and sustain their strong form to pursue success across multiple competitions.
