Bukayo Saka appeared rejuvenated when he scored a goal during Arsenal’s win against Nottingham Forest o Teusday.

Before the winter break, the 22-year-old experienced a decline in performance due to concerns about overuse, but the break proved beneficial for him.

He showcased glimpses of his top form once again at the City Ground.

Saka silenced the jeers from the home crowd by scoring a goal to extend Arsenal’s lead to 2-0 in the second half. This crucial goal not only secured the victory but also held significance for various reasons.

Despite facing scrutiny for his performance this season, Saka has already contributed to 23 goals and assists in 29 matches across all competitions.

This tally is nearing his total of 26 contributions in 48 games from last season.

His goal against Forest marked his 10th of the season, along with tallying 13 assists. This achievement signifies that Saka has scored and assisted 10 goals each in the same season for the second consecutive campaign.

According to Opta, he becomes the first Arsenal player to accomplish this since Alexis Sanchez during the 2016-17 season. Sanchez recorded 30 goals and 18 assists in 51 games across all competitions, but it’s noteworthy that Sanchez achieved this over three seasons, not two.

Sanchez’s remarkable individual campaign included a goal in the FA Cup final against Chelsea.

However, despite his standout performances, it was a bittersweet season for Arsenal as they dropped out of the top four for the first time in 20 years.
