West Ham United manager David Moyes is of the opinion that Arsenal have a strong chance of winning the Premier League title.
The two teams are scheduled to meet on Sunday, with Arsenal currently six points ahead of Manchester City, although they have played one more game. However, City will play against Leicester City less than 24 hours before Arsenal’s match, which could see the gap reduced to just three points.
Despite expectations of Arsenal dropping off, recent weeks have shown otherwise, with seven wins and a draw in their last eight league matches. With a difficult run-in ahead, including a trip to Manchester City, Sunday’s game against West Ham presents a great opportunity for Arsenal to return to winning ways after their 2-2 draw against Liverpool last week.
On the other hand, West Ham United has had a challenging season and is currently only three points above the relegation zone as the campaign draws to a close.
In his pre-match press conference, David Moyes praised the style of football that Mikel Arteta has implemented at Arsenal, stating that they have a strong chance of winning the Premier League title.
He said: “I think they’ve got a great chance [to win the league], which is an obvious thing to say. Will they win the league? I don’t know, because they have got a huge opponent in Manchester City and you never know, but they have got themselves in a great position and to be fair, they’ve been playing some really good football throughout the season.”
