Eddie Nketiah reacts after suffering injury blow, he’s a big loss for Arteta
Arsenal’s talented player, Eddie Nketiah, posted a message on social media following a setback he suffered due to an injury.
Although Gunners manager Mikel Arteta revealed that Nketiah had been playing despite his injury in several games, he did not participate in the recent victory against Bournemouth.
This led to worries that he may have sustained a new injury. Nketiah has taken over as Arsenal’s primary striker while Gabriel Jesus is recovering from knee surgery.
According to a report from The Evening Standard, Nketiah was absent from the Bournemouth game due to an ankle injury, and it is anticipated that he will not participate in the upcoming Europa League game against Sporting Lisbon.
Additionally, he may not be available for the Premier League match against Fulham on Sunday. This will be a significant loss for Arteta, who is still waiting for Gabriel Jesus to recover and return to the team.
In addition, it has been reported that Leandro Trossard sustained a groin injury during the Bournemouth match and is likely to be sidelined for two weeks.
However, the club is hopeful that the injury is not severe. As a result, Emile Smith Rowe may be called upon to play as a striker, a position he is said to have played during pre-season training. Gabriel Martinelli is also a possible option for the team.
Nketiah shared a picture on Instagram showing him and his team celebrating a goal at Emirates Stadium. He added the message, “Minor setback, major comeback!”
Nketiah may not play in Thursday’s game against Sporting, but Arsenal is optimistic that both Nketiah and Jesus will be available before the international break.

As reported by football.london, there are indications that Jesus may finally return to the pitch in Arsenal’s last Premier League game before the international break against Crystal Palace on March 19.
The Brazilian player has been out of action since the World Cup due to a medial collateral ligament (MCL) injury sustained during Brazil’s final group stage game against Cameroon on December 1.
However, he was spotted taking part in warm-down exercises with some of his teammates after the Bournemouth win, which has raised expectations of his return.
