Every Arsenal player’s earnings as Bukayo Saka set to become new highest earner
Bukayo Saka, a football player who represents England, is likely to receive a new lengthy agreement from Arsenal that would pay him over £288,000 each week.
Saka, who is 21 years old, has risen quickly in the ranks at Emirates and is considered one of the most exciting footballers in Europe. He has played in 169 games for Arsenal since his debut in November 2018 and has won both the FA Cup and Community Shield.
Despite his achievements, Saka’s contract with Arsenal has just over a year left, and Manchester City has shown interest in signing him.
To prevent this from happening, Arsenal is willing to make Saka their highest-paid player, surpassing the salaries of Gabriel Jesus and Martin Odegaard.
According to the Daily Mail, there are reports that Bukayo Saka is close to agreeing on a new contract with Arsenal that would pay him a minimum of £10 million each year (just over £192,000-a-week), but with bonuses and other add-ons, he could earn nearly £15 million each year.
If the deal is finalized, Saka would earn just over £288,000-a-week, making him one of the highest-paid players in Arsenal’s history.
However, Arsenal is not willing to surpass Mesut Ozil’s record salary of £350,000-a-week. Currently, Gabriel Jesus is the highest-earning player at Arsenal, receiving a weekly salary of £265,000, according to the wages listed by Spotrac, a sports contract website.
Thomas Partey, who is one of the most experienced players in Mikel Arteta’s team, is the second-highest earner at Arsenal, receiving a weekly salary of £200,000. Meanwhile, former Manchester City player Oleksandr Zinchenko takes home £150,000 per week.
Ben White and Granit Xhaka are both on a weekly salary of £120,000. In contrast, Saka’s current weekly salary is £70,000, which is much lower than the salaries of other Arsenal players like captain Odegaard (£115,000-a-week), Kieran Tierney (£110,000-a-week), Eddie Nketiah (£100,000-a-week), and Gabriel Martinelli (£90,000-a-week).
While the salary of Jorginho has not been disclosed, it is expected to be much higher than Saka’s current wage.
William Saliba, who earns £40,000-a-week, has one of the lowest salaries in the team, but his pay packet is likely to increase significantly due to his impressive performances this season if he signs a new deal. His current contract with Arsenal expires in June 2024, but the club has the option to extend it by a further 12 months.
Emile Smith Rowe and Saliba are currently earning the same amount of money, even though Smith Rowe signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal just 20 months ago. Smith Rowe has been struggling with a groin injury this season and needs to regain his spot in the starting lineup in order to receive a salary increase.
It’s surprising that Aaron Ramsdale, who is Arsenal’s first-choice goalkeeper and was acquired for £30m from Sheffield United in August 2021, is only making slightly more than £61,000 per week. However, he is likely to receive a pay raise in the near future due to his impressive performances.
As a result of Arsenal’s strong campaign, many of the players will likely be seeking higher wages. They are currently eight points ahead of Manchester City in the standings (though they have played one more game), which gives them a good chance of winning the Premier League title for the first time in 19 years.
