Fabio Vieira great, Zinchenko impresses: Arsenal player ratings against Everton

David Raya: Rarely required to make saves, but he demonstrated composure while in possession. When Everton applied occasional pressure, he served as a reliable outlet. He had a confident debut, earning a rating of 6.

Ben White: Displayed effective overlapping to assist Saka when he faced double coverage. However, he wasn’t at his best when controlling the ball and occasionally gave it away too easily. He received a rating of 6.

William Saliba: Handled Beto well when the Everton forward ventured forward on infrequent occasions. He remained vigilant throughout the match, particularly as the Toffees increased their attacks after conceding a goal. He earned a rating of 7.

Gabriel: Stirred up the home fans with some theatrics, but his overall performance was commendable. The Brazilian had another dependable outing and handled Everton’s physical challenges effectively. He received a rating of 6.

Oleksandr Zinchenko: Given Everton’s resilient defense, Zinchenko’s precise passes played a pivotal role in breaking through. He delivered several threatening balls over the top, and his well-executed pass to Saka in the build-up to Trossard’s goal proved decisive. His performance warranted a rating of 8.

Declan Rice: Maintained solidity in the midfield’s anchor role. His consistent interceptions at a high position on the pitch ensured that Everton faced constant pressure from Arsenal. He performed his customary duties well and earned a rating of 7.

Martin Odegaard: Arsenal experimented with a unique approach on corners, and Odegaard’s agility and nimble footwork played a pivotal role. While he may not have been at his most dominant, it was precisely these attributes that secured their victory in the end. He received a rating of 7.

Fabio Vieira: Towards the end of the previous season, Vieira’s form seemed to have declined significantly. However, he now appears to be brimming with confidence. The Portuguese player was outstanding, constantly interchanging with his left-winger counterpart and delivering intricate passes through Everton’s tightly packed defense. He wasn’t hesitant to vocally motivate his teammates either. The only thing missing was a goal. He earned a rating of 8.

Bukayo Saka: Saka had a relatively subdued first half but immediately made a more significant impact in the second. His crucial cutback to Trossard played a pivotal role in the match. His resilience in enduring some tough tackles from Everton players was notable, making it seem as if his legs were made of concrete. He received a rating of 7.

Eddie Nketiah: Nketiah began the game well with some nice flicks around the edge of the box but gradually faded as the match progressed. His substitution didn’t come as a big surprise. He received a rating of 6.

Gabriel Martinelli: Martinelli was unfortunate to have a superb finish disallowed for offside. Unfortunately, he had to be substituted shortly after due to what appeared to be a hamstring issue. He earned a rating of 6.

SUBSTITUTES

Leandro Trossard: After replacing Martinelli in the first half, Trossard displayed some clumsiness on the ball initially. However, he made significant improvements in the second half and capped it off with a splendid finish that secured the victory. He received a rating of 7.

Gabriel Jesus: As the game progressed, Jesus provided the Everton defenders with more to contend with compared to Nketiah. It’s expected that he might regain his starting position in the next game. He earned a rating of 6.

Takehiro Tomiyasu: Tomiyasu entered the game too late to have a noticeable impact, and therefore, no rating is applicable (n/a).

Kai Havertz: Similar to Tomiyasu, Havertz also came on too late in the match to influence the game significantly, and thus, no rating is applicable (n/a).
