Fabrizio Romano confirms next big Arsenal deal, as £50m star says yes
The upcoming major deal for Arsenal has received approval from the player, with Fabrizio Romano stating that it is now their top priority at the Emirates.
Arsenal, under the supervision of Mikel Arteta and Edu, have successfully transformed into serious contenders for titles.
A crucial factor contributing to their revival is their impressive success rate in the transfer market. In fact, they have had far more successful signings than failures since Edu took charge.
Another significant reason behind Arsenal’s ability to compete for top honors is their capability to retain their best players.
Gone are the days when stars like Thierry Henry, Cesc Fabregas, Robin van Persie, and Alexis Sanchez were lured away.
Since February, Aaron Ramsdale, William Saliba, Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli, and Bukayo Saka have all signed lucrative long-term contract extensions.
Captain Odegaard was the most recent to extend his contract on September 22. According to Fabrizio Romano, the next priority for Arsenal is to secure a deal with Ben White.
Romano has recently confirmed that talks between Arsenal and White’s representatives are in progress and moving forward.
In a recent update reported by Caught Offside, Romano emphasized that ensuring Ben White’s future is currently the top “focus” behind the scenes at Arsenal.
“Arsenal always go player by player in contract negotiations and Ben White is the priority now,” wrote Romano.
“As you know I never mention salaries, and there are no other details available about a deal at this stage.
“For sure it’d be a long term deal but the final length has not been decided yet.”
According to The Sun, Ben White’s current contract earns him £120,000 per week, and if a new agreement is reached, the 26-year-old can anticipate a substantial pay increase.
In a previous update from Romano, the £50 million signing from Brighton has expressed his desire to continue with Arsenal.
Given that Arsenal is evidently a club on the rise and White’s versatility makes him a consistent starter, it is logical that he would want to remain with the team.
With the player’s approval and Arsenal making it a top priority, it appears that news of a successful agreement should be forthcoming.
