Folarin Balogun releases statement as Arsenal star set for huge transfer decision amid USMNT call
Arsenal’s promising young player, Folarin Balogun, has issued a statement bidding farewell to Reims as his loan spell with the French club concludes. The 21-year-old striker has had a remarkable season, scoring an impressive 22 goals and gaining significant attention in the media.
Balogun is now preparing to return to his home club in north London for the summer, but before that, he will briefly join the United States Men’s National Team (USMNT) after receiving his first official call-up.
Although Balogun was born in New York, he initially represented England in the youth setup before committing himself to playing for the United States.
Ahead of his potential debut in the Gold Cup match against Jamaica, the striker had to bid farewell to Reims as his one-year loan spell with the club reached its conclusion. In a statement shared on Twitter, he expressed his gratitude, saying, “Merci. Saying goodbye is never easy, but we have reached the inevitable end of this chapter.”
“Last summer I had the opportunity to join n was welcomed with open arms from day-one! The support I’ve received from you all through-out my loan spell has been incredible and heartwarming. I leave hoping I was able to repay the love, trust and belief you guy’s put in me.
“This will forever be an unforgettable chapter for me and my family. Thank you for everything! Balo.”
The following phase in Balogun’s career is currently marked by uncertainty, as reports suggest that the young player is interested in a possible departure from Arsenal if he is not assured of regular playing time.
It remains to be seen whether he will indeed pursue a transfer and, if so, which club he might join, with the upcoming transfer window creating an atmosphere of anticipation.
