“From what I hear” – Journalist discloses Declan Rice “excited” by potential move to Arsenal
According to Kaya Kaynak, a journalist for Football.London, Arsenal’s chances of acquiring West Ham United player Declan Rice have improved.
The Premier League leaders’ interest has flattered the midfielder, and there are positive indications emerging from the Emirates Stadium.
While Arsenal maintained their lead at the top of the table with a dramatic win over Bournemouth, manager Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu are already looking ahead to potential summer signings.
As per The Times, Arsenal has made Declan Rice their primary target for the upcoming transfer window. The club is reportedly confident that they can outmaneuver Chelsea in securing the central midfielder’s signature, and are willing to pay £80 million to lure him away from West Ham.
Arsenal has been in continuous contact with Rice’s representatives and is prepared to offer a weekly contract worth £200,000, hoping to gain an edge over other potential suitors.
Pete O’Rourke, a respected journalist, recently informed GiveMeSport that Declan Rice is intrigued by the possibility of joining the Premier League front-runners and may become the subject of a bidding war.
However, Rice’s long-term future is unclear, as his £60,000-per-week contract is set to expire in the summer, although West Ham may have an option to extend it for an additional year.
Kaya Kaynak, the chief Gunners reporter for Football.London, believes that Declan Rice is genuinely interested in joining Arsenal.
Rice reportedly sees this move as an opportunity to fulfill his dream of playing in the Champions League. According to Kaynak, the West Ham captain was surprised by the Gunners’ interest, leaving manager Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu in an exciting position.
Kaynak told GIVEMESPORT: “From what I hear, he is quite happy with that interest. He’s quite excited by the prospect of moving to Arsenal and the prospect of playing in the Champions League, which is something he’s always said.
“He has been very flattered by the fact that Arsenal are making an effort to sign him and going in this way. I think it’s looking positive for Arsenal.”
According to TEAMtalk, Manchester City has a long-standing interest in Declan Rice and is considered one of the favorites to acquire him.
The report suggests that City’s manager Pep Guardiola is seriously contemplating making a move for the 24-year-old, especially with uncertainty surrounding the futures of Ilkay Gundogan, Bernardo Silva, and Kalvin Phillips.
Meanwhile, Manchester United is also keen on securing Rice’s services and is confident of persuading him to move to Old Trafford, despite his desire to stay in London.
Liverpool is also monitoring the situation, and West Ham will not impede the move if their valuation is met, indicating that a move to Arsenal is not guaranteed.
