Gabriel Jesus Arsenal injury latest as new update issued after scan confirmed

Gabriel Jesus has potentially strained his hamstring, exiting the game during Arsenal’s 2-1 victory against Sevilla on Tuesday.

The Brazilian player has been plagued by injuries during his tenure at the Emirates Stadium.

Earlier in the 2023/24 season, Jesus was sidelined due to a knee problem, which was a recurrence of an injury he sustained during the previous year’s World Cup.

In the match against Sevilla, the 25-year-old was substituted after displaying his individual skills, setting up Gabriel Martinelli for the opening goal just before the end of the first half.

Shortly after the break, Jesus took matters into his own hands, skillfully bypassing several opponents to curl in the second goal of the match. Here’s an update on his injury status and its current progress.

Scan scheduled

On Thursday, Gabriel Jesus underwent a scan, and Arsenal is now in a tense 24-hour period of awaiting the results. Mikel Arteta is scheduled to address the media on Friday, in preparation for Arsenal’s upcoming Premier League match against Sheffield United, during which an update on the condition of the Brazilian international is anticipated.

New message

Gabriel Jesus has taken to social media to express his gratitude to the fans after being named the player of the match in the game against Sevilla on Tuesday night. In his message, he said, “Hello, Gooners! I’m here with the player of the match trophy, thank you for your support you helped us a lot.

“A nice, good and important win tonight against Sevilla. So, thank you and let’s go!”

Gabriel Jesus breaks silence

Although Mikel Arteta voiced his worry about Gabriel Jesus and a potential injury, the striker appeared to downplay any notion of the concern being a significant one.

He mentioned to TNT Sports: “I felt something. Let’s see. I did some tests with the physio, it looks not that big, but let’s see. I have a scan, maybe tomorrow. I’m pretty sure it will be nothing.”

Mikel Arteta update

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided an update on the status of striker Gabriel Jesus after he was replaced in the game against Sevilla due to an injury concern.
