Gabriel Jesus returns, Bukayo Saka starts: Arsenal predicted line up vs Everton

Arsenal’s beginning to the Premier League season has been nearly flawless.

The Gunners have surrendered just two points and, just before the international break, secured a thrilling last-minute victory over Manchester United. Nevertheless, there is a sense that there’s more to come.

While Mikel Arteta’s team ignited the previous season from the start, this time around, they’ve only shown sporadic sparks of brilliance. Arteta might view this as a positive sign, indicating that his team has several untapped potentials. Yet, he’ll be eager to see improvements materialize soon.

There aren’t many better opponents to put this to the test than Everton. The Toffees have had a dismal start to the season, making Arsenal the clear favorites.

Nonetheless, over the past six years, Arsenal has failed to secure a win at Goodison Park, so they cannot afford to be overly confident.

Consequently, Arteta’s precise team selection becomes crucial, and in this context, ArsenalBrief examines who he might opt for.

Goalkeeper – Aaron Ramsdale

David Raya’s first appearance could be just around the corner as Arsenal prepares for their Champions League opener against PSV on Wednesday.

However, at least for the time being, Aaron Ramsdale will retain his position as the starting goalkeeper in the league.

Right back – Ben White

Given the injuries to Thomas Partey and Jurrien Timber, it’s highly likely that Ben White will make a return to the right-back position. The 25-year-old is currently in discussions with Arsenal regarding a new contract, and his role will be pivotal in the upcoming weeks.

Centre back – William Saliba

The 22-year-old featured for the entire 90 minutes in France’s recent loss to Germany during the international break. Given Arsenal’s shortage of defensive options, he holds a vital role to fulfill in the coming weeks.

Centre back – Gabriel

The Brazilian player had the privilege of making his debut for the national team during the international break, and despite some concerns about injuries, he appears to have emerged from the experience without any significant issues. With Thomas Partey sidelined due to injury, he is expected to start as a center-back.

Left back – Oleksandr Zinchenko

Zinchenko managed to score an unusual goal during the international break while playing in midfield for Ukraine. However, it’s anticipated that he will return to his left-back position when Arsenal heads to Goodison Park.

Defensive midfield – Declan Rice

Zinchenko managed to score an unusual goal during the international break while playing in midfield for Ukraine. However, it’s anticipated that he will return to his left-back position when Arsenal heads to Goodison Park.

Central midfield – Kai Havertz

Kai Havertz undoubtedly has a considerable amount of work to do in order to win over the Arsenal fanbase following a somewhat underwhelming beginning at the Emirates.

However, one person who appears to have full confidence in him is Mikel Arteta. It’s likely that the German will be granted another opportunity to prove himself at Goodison Park.

Central midfield – Martin Odegaard

Mikel Arteta has openly expressed his optimism regarding Arsenal’s prospects of extending Martin Odegaard’s contract.

It appears that the Norwegian midfielder is poised to remain in North London for an extended period and will take on the role of captain at a stadium where he has not yet secured a victory.

Right wing – Bukayo Saka

During his press conference, Mikel Arteta mentioned that Bukayo Saka’s injury issues are within the typical range for a footballer. The 22-year-old is known for his resilience and is unlikely to be deterred from playing through minor discomfort.

Centre forward – Gabriel Jesus

Mikel Arteta is currently confronted with one of his most significant decisions. Eddie Nketiah has had an impressive start to the season, but Gabriel Jesus is now completely recovered and available for selection.

The Brazilian has an excellent track record against Everton, whereas Nketiah faced difficulties at Goodison Park last year. This factor might just tip the scales in favor of Gabriel Jesus.

Left wing – Gabriel Martinelli

Gabriel Martinelli has had a strong start to the season and is expected to be in the starting lineup at Goodison Park.

However, Leandro Trossard is ready and available as a backup option if Martinelli’s performance mirrors his struggles from last season’s match against Everton.
