Jamie Carragher delivers surprise prediction for Arsenal’s Carabao Cup clash vs West Ham
Former Liverpool star Jamie Carragher has shared his forecast for the Carabao Cup match on Wednesday between Arsenal and West Ham United.
Arsenal has been performing remarkably well in their domestic games, securing 24 out of 30 possible points and holding the second position in the table, trailing behind Tottenham Hotspur.
On the other hand, West Ham finds themselves positioned in ninth place with 14 points, residing in the middle of the standings.
The upcoming clash between these two teams is scheduled for Wednesday evening at the London Stadium, and Carragher believes that David Moyes’ team will emerge victorious.
In an interview with the EFL’s official website, the former English national player expressed his prediction. “This one’s a big one. It depends on what teams get put out because I’m not sure the changes West Ham will make with them being in the Europa League as well, so I’m going to go for West Ham on penalties.
“I think it’ll be a really tight game and Arsenal will make a few changes.”
Arsenal’s triumph in the League Cup dates back to 1993, marking a considerable gap since their last win in this competition.
However, Mikel Arteta, the manager of the Gunners, has emphasized his serious approach towards this tournament.
“Yeah I live it exactly the same as the Premier League tomorrow,” the Spaniard said in his pre-match press conference.
“I have the same thing in my tummy and the certain thing and same way to prepare and I’m going to be there, closer to the game, and I just want to win the game for sure.”
