Jorginho left in stitches after catching Arsenal teammate Gabriel Jesus on his driving lesson
Jorginho, an Arsenal midfielder, was unable to contain his amusement after discovering his teammate Gabriel Jesus taking a driving lesson.
Jesus, who transferred to Arsenal from Manchester City during the summer, has been recovering from an injury he sustained while playing in the World Cup.
He seems to have been using his recovery time to improve his driving skills, with a learner sign visible on top of his vehicle, as he gets closer to returning to the starting lineup.
Jorginho came across his teammate during his lesson with an instructor and found the scene incredibly hilarious, despite having been an Arsenal player since January himself.
Jorginho posted a video on his Instagram stories, where he zooms in on a blue car with Gabriel Jesus inside, who rolls down the window.
Jorginho tagged Jesus and added cry-laugh emojis as captions. While laughing, Jorginho asked Jesus repeatedly about what he was doing.
After Jesus responded, Jorginho burst into laughter again. Then, Jesus asked if he could practice driving on Jorginho’s car next time, but Jorginho declined, saying “No chance mate! Good luck.”
Gabriel Jesus’ last game for Arsenal was on November 12, when they defeated Wolves in the Premier League. However, he has finally resumed training after spending over three months on the sidelines.
” He’s progressing well,” manager Mikel Arteta said of the Brazil star in February. “Doing more and more on the field. The knee’s not reacting so it’s positive. We want him back quickly but respect the timeline from the doctors.”
Arsenal’s upcoming schedule includes a Europa League round of 16 match against Sporting Lisbon on Thursday, followed by a challenging Premier League game against Fulham on Sunday.
Eddie Nketiah was absent from Arsenal’s recent win over Bournemouth, and Leandro Trossard was injured during the first half of the game. Therefore, Jesus’ return to the squad could not have come at a better time.
“It is a worry, he came to me straight away and said he couldn’t continue, he’d felt something when he was tracking back, so we had to take him off,” Arteta said of Trossard’s injury. “We’ll assess him and see how he is.”
Despite Arsenal’s struggles in the attacking department, they managed to recover from a 2-0 deficit to win their previous match. Reiss Nelson, who came on as a substitute, scored the winning goal in added time to secure the victory against Bournemouth.
“It’s just another game, another three points,” Arteta said. “To win three games in a week is very important. We want to stay there [at the top] for as long as possible. There are still a lot of games to play but that’s the beauty of it.”
