Marquinhos breaks silence after being recalled by Arsenal from loan
Arsenal’s winger, Marquinhos, is currently with the Brazilian U23 team, but uncertainty surrounds his future with the club.
Despite a loan stint at Nantes in the first half of the season where he struggled to secure sufficient playing time, Arsenal decided to recall him this month.
There are plans for him to join another club on loan, provided they assure him regular playing opportunities.
At just 20 years old, Marquinhos is eager for game time, and while the possibility of remaining at Arsenal until the end of the season exists, his future remains open.
When questioned about his plans while in camp with the Brazil youth team, he shared his thoughts with Globo Esporte.
“I’m very focused on having a great Pre-Olympic, to return to Arsenal confident, to continue the work there, and God willing, to be at the next Olympics.”
Marquinhos believes he has the ability to perform well on the field and deserves playing time.
It’s crucial to secure a new placement for him in the second half of the season, even if it means exploring opportunities in the Championship in England.
The condition, however, is that he must be assured of regular playing opportunities.
If such assurances are not possible, it might be more beneficial for him to remain at the Emirates, training alongside higher-quality teammates.
