Martin Odegaard claims Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus hold the Key to winning the title
Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard believes that the leadership and experience of Manchester City’s mentality monsters, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus, will be crucial in helping Arsenal secure the Premier League title.
Jesus, who has won four league titles, is set to return to the starting lineup for the game against Crystal Palace after a long injury lay-off, and Odegaard is counting on his contribution to Arsenal’s success.
According to Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko are not only experienced leaders but also bring new ideas and experiences that they have gained from working in Pep Guardiola’s successful environment at Manchester City.
Odegaard believes that their knowledge and expertise will prove beneficial to Arsenal’s pursuit of the Premier League title.
“Gabriel is a great addition to the squad again,” said Odegaard.
“He gives so much every day in training, he comes in and trains like it’s a game. He gives everything in all situations so it is great to have him back.
“Of course, he has been at Manchester City and won a few things there so he can help with his experience and his energy as well. Great to have him back.
“The (ex-City players) just bring different thinking, they have the experience and people listen to them when they talk.
“They are calm under pressure and add a lot of things. The whole team is helping each other so that is the main thing.”
If Arsenal wins their upcoming match against Crystal Palace, they will have a lead of eight points, taking into account that Manchester City won’t be playing in the league this weekend.
Odegaard believes that the match against Palace will be a challenge for their team’s resilience, especially after their difficult loss to Sporting in the Europa League on Thursday.
“It is very, very important (to win),” said the Norwegian.
“The next game comes quick now so we can’t feel sorry for ourselves. We have to recover and make sure we win.
“It is good we feel disappointed. We should feel disappointed. We have to make sure it is only tonight and we come in with fresh minds ready to win on Sunday.”
