‘Out of this world’ Arsenal player is definitely going to leave this summer – David Ornstein
According to a tweet by journalist David Ornstein, Charlie Patino is set to leave Arsenal permanently in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Patino has had a tough season playing regularly for Blackpool in the Championship, where he was one of their key players but was unable to prevent their relegation last weekend.
Although there were earlier indications that Patino might be promoted to Arsenal’s first-team squad for next season, this now seems unlikely.
Nonetheless, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has previously praised Patino’s potential and believes that he has a bright future ahead of him.
According to Ornstein’s report, it seems that Arsenal will be parting ways with Patino. Despite earlier discussions about his potential contract extension with the club, Patino’s current deal which runs until 2025 doesn’t seem to have convinced him to stay.
The talented 19-year-old has been described as “out of this world,” but it appears that he will now be moving on from The Emirates.
Ornstein claims Patino will leave Arsenal this summer
In a tweet, Ornstein said: “EXCL: Charlie Patino set to leave Arsenal permanently this summer. 19yo wants regular 1st team action; unlikely for now + prefers not to exit #AFC on loan again.
“Club receptive & ready to help facilitate, as interest builds from UK/abroad.”

Patino’s concerns about his future prospects of playing for Arsenal could be justified, given the significant transfer speculation surrounding his position.
The club has been linked with high-profile midfielders like Declan Rice, and they were eager to sign Moises Caicedo in January.
It’s understandable that Patino may not want to go out on loan again, as stability is becoming increasingly vital for young players to focus on their development. One bad loan move could potentially waste a year of Patino’s career, which is a risk he can’t afford to take.
It’s notable that Ornstein’s report suggests that Arsenal are willing to assist Patino with his next move, indicating that they are not desperate to hold on to him.
It appears that Mikel Arteta and the club recognize that it may be in everyone’s best interest for Patino to pursue his career elsewhere, rather than keeping him at Arsenal out of obligation.
It will be intriguing to see where Patino ends up next, and there’s a possibility that another Premier League team may acquire his services. If that happens, it’s possible that Arsenal may encounter Patino again in the future.
