Paul Merson Predicts Arsenal vs Leicester Match Result
Paul Merson, who used to play for Arsenal, anticipates an enjoyable match when his ex-club faces Leicester this upcoming weekend.
Arsenal’s defense has been weak lately and Merson believes this trend will persist at the King Power Stadium.
However, he is confident that Mikel Arteta’s team will come out victorious and earn three points.
“Arsenal are the team to watch right now. Arteta’s side seem to get a little nervous on occasion and they’re a bit caught in between wanting to be defensively solid and going all-out in attack.”
“They should ideally score the first goal and if they do that, they’ll play their best football for the rest of the game. But they haven’t been doing that much in recent games and that’s what has led to them being shaky at the back because the nerves start to show. I expect Arsenal to come out on top in an entertaining game.”
According to Merson, Arsenal will win the game by a score of 3-2, and although this outcome would be acceptable to fans, the match is likely to be tense and nerve-wracking.
Arsenal’s defense has not kept a clean sheet since the North London derby a month ago, and in their last six games, they have allowed 10 goals. While Leicester failed to score in their previous match, they were unlucky not to score a goal or two against Manchester United, so they remain a dangerous team.
Merson thinks that Arsenal will score more goals than Leicester, but given recent form, the match could be back-and-forth with both teams having opportunities to score on Saturday.
