Six players missing from Arsenal training including Saka, Partey and Jorginho
Ahead of Arsenal’s match against Leicester City, six players have not been captured training at London Colney.
The Gunners have a game in hand and a two-point lead over Manchester City, and they are keen to maintain their position at the top of the table. To aid their efforts, it seems that some players have been given time to recuperate.
The Football Daily video reveals that the players who were not pictured training include Thomas Partey, Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah, Jorginho, Oleksandr Zinchenko, and Bukayo Saka.
While Partey and Jesus have been out due to injuries for a while, the remaining four players appeared in the match against Aston Villa.
Saka seemed to be limping during the second half of the game, suggesting that he may have been injured. Despite this, the player chose to continue playing. After the match, Arteta spoke to the press and dismissed any suggestions that Saka was injured, giving a positive update on his condition.
The Arsenal manager stated that Saka was doing well and had not sustained any significant injury. : The Arsenal boss said: “He’s fine.
“He got kicked quite a lot today again. But he’s going to have to deal with that, not every week, but every three days and sometimes in training as well because it’s his game and teams are not stupid and they want to stop him. That’s why we need to protect him.”
Saka later followed up the Spaniard’s remarks with a post on Twitter. Pleased with winning the crucial three points, he tweeted: “That one felt good.”
Jorginho was not present at Arsenal’s training on Monday, and he has made a good impression on Arteta ever since he joined from Chelsea on the deadline day.
After the match against Aston Villa, the Gunners manager praised Jorginho for his quality, particularly his ability to score from deep positions, which Arteta had not previously seen.
“The biggest quality he has is that he makes other people look better, better than what you actually are. He’s made a huge impact already on the boys and the staff and hopefully our fans. I hope people can see that because I thought he was tremendous today.”
