“Some players will get offended…” – Alex Iwobi shares what he noticed early on with Saka in Arsenal training
Arsenal lead Manchester City by eight points in the Premier League with nine games remaining, despite having played one more game than the defending champions.
And Saka has been crucial to the success of the Gunners. The 21-year-old is in contention for player of the season after contributing to 22 goals in 29 Premier League appearances this season.
Although the youngster has reached new heights this season, he has been an Arsenal prospect since he joined the club’s academy at the age of seven.
Everton midfielder Iwobi, a fellow graduate of Hale End, disclosed how Saka performed in his first training sessions with the Arsenal first team.

Iwobi revealed what the England star was like in training, describing how despite his youth, senior players respected him.
He stated on tbgpod,”When he first come up to train [in the] first team [he] never complained.
“All the players gave him that respect because he was doing his thing in training.
“I know some players will get a bit offended because it’s like a young man dribbling past.”
Saka has made 170 appearances for the Gunners since making his senior debut in 2018. He has scored 36 goals and contributed 39 assists.
Iwobi insisted that Saka’s attitude has been the driving force behind his success.
The 26-year-old said: “The thing is a lot of Arsenal youngsters are cold and he was raw then. So that left foot just jinky mi jinky go past a few men.
“Now he’s doing it on a consistent basis. We’ve seen it. I’ve seen it anyway. Not only is he a great player, he’s humble as well.
“Like he was eager to learn, he listens [and] doesn’t argue back. For example, he treats the dinner ladies the same way he’ll treat us man.”
