‘Special’ 22-year-old player now wants to join Manchester United instead of Arsenal
Arsenal could miss out on Jeremie Frimpong this summer, as the 22-year-old right- back prefers Manchester United to Arsenal.
In recent weeks, Frimpong has become one of the names on Arsenal’s radar. His form for Bayer Leverkusen has been outstanding, and he has scored seven goals from fullback this season.
Nevertheless, according to a report from BILD – via Sport Witness, Frimpong is already leaning towards joining Manchester United.
Jeremie Frimpong appears to be a player who can easily make the transition to the Premier League.
Defensively, he is adequate, and while he can certainly improve, it is his offensive output that currently sets him apart from the competition.
Frimpong, described by a certain Xabi Alonso as a “special” talent, is a player that both Arsenal and United can benefit from having on their rosters.
Leverkusen will naturally wish to retain one of their top players. However, as with the majority of high-profile players who perform well in Germany, a move to the Premier League is inevitable.
So far, it appears that Arsenal and United are interested in Frimpong. Old Trafford appears to be his preferred option given the current state of affairs.
When you consider Jeremie Frimpong’s speed, strength, and goal-scoring ability from the wingback position, he is an exceptional player.
He is extremely close to being the ideal Premier League player. At age 22, he has plenty of room for improvement.
If Arsenal misses out on this opportunity, it is one they will want to closely monitor. Frimpong is of high caliber, and Edu and company must determine if he is worth passing up.
