The 20 most valuable players in the world right now: Mbappe above Haaland, Saka ranks high
Not surprisingly, prominent football clubs such as Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Barcelona, Real Madrid, and PSG have some of the most valuable players in world football.
However, it is noticeable that Liverpool is noticeably missing from the list of the top 20 most valuable footballers in Europe. Jurgen Klopp’s team does not include any of the currently highly valued players in the sport.
Jude Bellingham, who is set to join Real Madrid, is valued at €120 million. This makes the Borussia Dortmund midfielder the fourth most valuable player in the world right now. Following closely behind the England international are Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka and Manchester City’s Phil Foden in terms of their valuation.
Following his instrumental role in Arsenal’s pursuit of the title last season, Bukayo Saka has now entered the top five most valuable players. Mikel Arteta’s team has secured their prized asset by offering him a lucrative new contract that will keep the 21-year-old at the Emirates Stadium until 2027.
The two players ranked higher than the English trio are the exceptional talents Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland, which comes as no surprise. Real Madrid’s Brazilian superstar Vinicius Junior is positioned just below them in terms of value.
Mbappe had the opportunity to join Real Madrid as a free agent last summer but ultimately decided to remain at PSG. He signed one of the most lucrative contracts in football history. However, the 24-year-old only committed to a three-year deal with his hometown club, leaving the question of his potential transfer still open.
Haaland, who joined Manchester City last summer for €60 million, has had an exceptionally successful start in Manchester. He is currently under contract with the club until 2027. Despite persistent rumors linking him to Real Madrid, it would require a substantial financial investment from Florentino Perez to secure Haaland’s signature in the near future.
Real Madrid also has highly valued players in their squad, including Federico Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Rodrygo, all valued at €80 million or more. However, Manchester City has the highest representation in the top 20, with Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, Rodri, Foden, and Haaland.
Moving on to Barcelona, their young talents Gavi and Pedri have a combined value of €190 million. Despite being in the final year of his contract with Tottenham, Harry Kane is still considered a valuable player. De Bruyne is the only player older than Kane who is valued at €80 million or higher.
In addition, Chelsea’s record signing Enzo Fernandez and Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford are also included in the list, valued at €85 million and €80 million respectively.
