Trossard injury not serious as Arsenal set for late Nketiah decision for Lisbon
According to information obtained by football.london, it is believed that Leandro Trossard’s injury sustained during Saturday’s 3-2 Premier League victory over Bournemouth, which caused him to leave the game in the first half, is not considered to be severe. The Belgian forward appears to have a groin issue.
“It is a worry,” Mikel Arteta said of the injury in his post-match press conference. “He came to me and said ‘I cannot continue, I felt something when I was tracking back after the corner’. We had to take him off and we have to assess him and see how he is.”
The medical evaluation of Trossard’s injury is ongoing, but initial indications suggest that it is not a significant injury. Despite this, it is improbable that the Belgian player will recover in time for the Europa League round of 16 match against Sporting Lisbon on Thursday.
As a result, Arsenal faces a challenge in the forward position. Eddie Nketiah, who was unavailable for the Bournemouth game due to an ankle injury, may not be fit for the Europa League match against Sporting Lisbon. Manager Arteta has expressed concerns that Nketiah’s injury could be significant, and the club will make a late decision on whether to include him in the squad or not.
