What Gabriel Jesus accused Liverpool of to Jurgen Klopp in touchline rant
The Premier League match between Arsenal and Liverpool exceeded all expectations. The Gunners traveled to Anfield knowing that three points would be a significant statement regarding their Premier League title hopes.
Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus gave Mikel Arteta’s team a 2-0 lead in the first 28 minutes of play on Merseyside after a frantic start. Before the first half’s dramatic conclusion, Mohamed Salah halved the deficit.
Moments before Salah’s goal, Granit Xhaka and Trent Alexander-Arnold were involved in an altercation. Jesus was then subjected to three challenges inside the Liverpool half.
The Brazilian was treated by club physiotherapist Simon Murphy before leaving the field voluntarily. In a frustrated rant to Jurgen Klopp, Jesus appeared to accuse the Liverpool players of elbowing him as he made his way to the touchline.
The Reds fanbase did not welcome Jesus’ response with open arms either. Paul Tierney did not appear to acknowledge Jesus’ protests, as no Liverpool player was penalized for the incident.
The striker scored his third goal in two games since returning from injury with his goal at Anfield. The 26-year-old was in the right place at the right time to head past Alisson after scoring twice against Leeds the week prior.
