When will Gabriel Jesus make Arsenal return?
Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, stated that Gabriel Jesus is making good progress in his recovery from knee surgery; however, he cautioned that a comeback is still “a bit far” away.
The Brazilian international suffered a knee injury while on World Cup duty in Qatar and underwent knee surgery in December as a result of the injury.
Recent social media posts from the forward, in which he showed himself throwing away his crutches and knee brace, have raised excitement levels among fans that he could be back relatively quickly. Arsenal has always been reluctant to put a timeframe on his return; however, recent social media posts from the forward have shown him throwing away his crutches and knee brace.
However, Arteta has suggested that the 25-year-old still has some way to go in his recovery, which has caused those expectations to be tempered somewhat.
“He’s progressing really well,” the manager of Arsenal said about the player. “He is exerting a great deal of effort, and he is on track in relation to the timeline that we established for him; however, he is not quite there yet.”
The continued absence of Jesus has increased the urgency with which Arsenal must strengthen their attacking options this month, and the club is now very close to reaching an agreement to acquire the services of Shakhtar Donetsk star Mykhailo Mudryk.
Arteta responded to a question about Mudryk by saying, “You know we cannot talk about any other players,” in response to the inquiry. “Because we’re lacking in certain areas and because we’ve picked up injuries, there are some things that we’d like to do to improve the team, and there is interest in those things. As a club, we are putting forth our best effort. We are working hard to get better in every possible window.”
