Arsenal Dealt Blow As The ‘New Luis Suarez’ Declines Offer In Favour Of Another Club
Reports from Catalan media suggest that Vitor Roque, the striker for Athletico Parananense, has rejected an offer to join Arsenal.
In the previous month, it was reported that Edu, the sporting director of Arsenal, had contacted the representatives of the teenager regarding his potential transfer to the Emirates.
Despite interest from other Premier League teams such as Chelsea and Newcastle, Vitor Roque reportedly prefers a move to Barcelona over joining Mikel Arteta’s side.
However, it’s important to note that Barcelona is currently facing financial difficulties, and it has been reported that they need to raise €150m (£133m) by the summer to ensure their financial stability.
Given Barcelona’s current financial situation, it would be surprising if they have the necessary funds to finance a transfer for Vitor Roque, especially considering the player’s reported €60m (£53m) release clause.
It’s unlikely that his club would let him go for less than the buyout fee, particularly given the interest in the young striker, who has been compared to a young Luis Suarez.
It remains to be seen how this story will develop.
